A statement by the Ministry says that the verification of data is also possible on
the Ministry’s Internet page by inserting the voter’s personal identification number.
Until the closure of the voters’ register on 28 February, the requests for modifications in the register can be submitted to the city and municipal administrations at the place of residence of voters or the place of residence of the internally displaced persons.
After this date and up to 12 March, the requests for modifications in the voters’ register, which should also be submitted to the municipal and city administrations, will be handled by the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration.
Citizens have the right to vote outside their place of residence, as well as voters who are abroad.
The voters who reside abroad can submit the request to the diplomatic and consular offices of Serbia by 22 February. This request will however be handled by the city or municipal administration according to the voter’s place of residence in Serbia.
The Administration Inspectorate of the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration, in line with its competencies prescribed by law, will monitor the updating of the voters’ registers in all city and municipal administrations from 1 to 28 February and will take necessary measures in line with its jurisdiction.
The unique voters’ register is a public document that contains a unique record of citizens of Serbia who have the right to vote. It was established in late 2011 and it was first used in practice in May 2012 when elections at all levels were held.
The Ministry of Justice and Public Administration keeps a unique register of voters, while modifications are regularly made by city and municipal administrations for their respective territories, reads the statement.
