The statement points out that Bećirović’s central message at the commemoration in Potočari was not a call for reconciliation within Bosnia and Herzegovina, or a call for opening a new page in history in relations with neighbours, but a frightening rhetorical and ideological timeline, and a call for renewed animosity and conflict in the region.
No one today threatens the Bosniak people except Bosniak political leaders, who for some reason do not want to allow the region to start living normally and to develop through interpersonal and business ties.
It is necessary to recall on this occasion that both Serbs and Croats suffered en masse during the war, because what has been happening in recent weeks and months is an attempt to create a hierarchy among the victims.
Therefore, no one denies that the crime in Srebrenica took place, but Sarajevo, by insisting on presenting it as a crime of crimes, indirectly denies and devalues the crimes committed against Serbs and Croats, and there were not few of them, nor were the victims few.
Serbia’s only interest is the development and progress of the region, and the prerequisite for this is to calm political passions and abandon the policy of unfounded accusations, the statement states.
