Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic has called on early parliamentary elections for 16 March.

Based on the government's argumented proposal, Nikolic signed a decree on the dissolution of Serbian Parliament and decision to call early parliamentary elections.
These will be the tenth parliamentary elections since the introduction of the multi-party system, and the seventh early elections.
