A:

Bilateral screening of Chapter 35 takes place in Brussels

Belgrade/Brussels, 22 January 2014

Minister without portfolio responsible for Kosovo-Metohija Aleksandar Vulin stated that today’s explanatory and bilateral screening of Chapter 35 was dedicated to normalisation of relations between Belgrade and Pristina.

Vulin, who is also Head of the Serbian Negotiating Team for Chapter 35, underlined that this chapter is something new for both Serbia and the EU and added that the problems encountered will be solved on the ground.

He specified that status issues will not be resolved under Chapter 35 and added that the work of the police was discussed and what has been done and what yet needs to be done.

The Minister pointed out that the screening is a mandatory part of preparations for the opening of each of the 35 chapters in the accession process, and Chapter 35 deals with Kosovo-Metohija.
