At a meeting with a delegation of the China International Constructors Association, which consists of representatives of seven largest construction companies in China, and with a representative of China Export and Import Bank held at the Serbian government, Antic specified that the working group will be composed of representatives of the ministries of transport, finance, construction and urban planning, regional development and local self-government, energy, development and environmental protection, and of the companies Koridori Srbije, Zeleznice Srbije and Elektroprivreda Srbije.
He noted that apart from the economy, Serbia places transport infrastructure among its priorities and highlighted the position of the Serbian government that Serbia as a state does not have time to waste when it comes to big projects.
The Minister announced that on 23 December, Belgrade will be visited by a working group of the Chinese government to discuss modernisation of the Belgrade-Budapest railway and cooperation on future projects.
Antic recalled that Serbia’s public debt is very high, which is why realisation of projects with China can be done through loans and other financial arrangements, such as concessions and public-private partnerships.
In addition to the Belgrade-Budapest railway, the priority is also construction of the section of Belgrade-Pozega motorway and that of Novi Sad-Ruma, which can be extended towards Sabac and Loznica, the Minister added.
He specified that the idea is that all these projects be realised through concessions.
