Addressing MPs in Serbian Parliament, who
started a debate on the 2014 budget proposal, Dacic said that the document is not a definite solution to Serbia’s problems, but it is a step toward a solution and a precondition for launching a reform process, which will last several years.
He said that thanks to government measures the consolidated budget deficit will stand at 7.1% of GDP, instead of 9%.
The public debt will be below 70%, instead of 80%, the Prime Minister said.
The fiscal and structural measures envisaged in the budget guarantee an economic growth of 1% in 2014, the Prime Minister noted, adding that the government is resolute to tackle the gray economy.
In Serbia, everyone has to pay taxes and there is no exception to that, he said, adding that new labour law is necessary, as well as in-depth and careful reform of the pension system, to enable its sustainability.
Dacic called on MPs to support the budget, because it will allow Serbia to start solving life's problems.
