Minister of Justice and Public Administration Nikola Selakovic stated today that Serbia’s aim is to build independent and unbiased judiciary that acts professionally, with responsibility, quality and efficiency and which deserves citizens’ trust.
Expounding the Proposal of the strategy for judiciary reform from 2013 to 2018 in the Serbian government, Selakovic explained that the Serbian judiciary is facing the problem of extreme inefficiency and that the citizens are affected the most by that.
That is why the strategy proposes measures for accelerating court proceedings and reducing the number of overdue cases, for changing the existing network of courts and following the results.
According to him, the role of the Ministry of Justice and Public Administration is to be the pillar of the reform process.
