Belgrade still committed to achieving compromise solution with Pristina

The state delegation of Serbia, led by Prime Minister Ivica Dacic at yesterday’s talks in Brussels with representatives of interim institutions of authority in Pristina, met upon returning to Belgrade with Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic and informed him of the results of the eighth round of dialogue.

Advisor to the Serbian President Marko Djuric told the press after a two-hour meeting that the situation is really difficult and that the state leadership in the coming days will have to make extremely difficult decisions about Serbia’s future steps, of which the public will be informed in detail.

According to him, the last round of talks was so difficult that it exceeded all negative expectations and it can be said that at present there is no compromise solution, but that Belgrade remains equally determined to go towards it, if that is possible, no matter how difficult that might be.

The meeting at the Presidency of Serbia was attended by Prime Minister Dacic, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Aleksandar Vucic, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Suzana Grubjesic, Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivan Mrkic, Director of the Office for Kosovo-Metohija Aleksandar Vulin and Advisor to the Serbian President Marko Djuric.

The eighth round of dialogue in Brussels was completed late last night without agreement.
