Petković warned that ahead of every election, Albin Kurti resorts to unilateral and escalatory moves to the detriment of the Serbian people.
The numerous attacks and ethnically motivated incidents directed against Serbs are a direct result of the aggressive anti-Serb policy pursued by Kurti, as well as the daily negative political narrative towards everything Serbian, the Director of the Office said.
According to him, Kurti’s avoidance of dialogue, regardless of whether elections are the reason for it or not, clearly demonstrates that the dialogue is stagnating due to direct obstruction from Priština.
He underlined that Belgrade is committed to the normalisation of relations and to resolving all problems on the ground through dialogue, stressing that it is important to take concrete steps towards the establishment of the Community of Serb Municipalities, which is a guarantee of the security and collective rights of Serbs.
As he pointed out, Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija are faced almost daily with politically motivated arrests and proceedings conducted against them without respect for fundamental human rights, accompanied by media and political pressure from Priština.
