Grubjesic, who presented to members of the Serbian Parliament’s Committee for European Integration the Report on the implementation of NPI for the fourth quarter of 2012, and the National Programme for the Adoption of EU Legislation for the period from 2013 to 2016, noted that a lot of work has been done in the last five years which will be a good basis for the period ahead of us.
According to her, the NPI was fulfilled 40% in the last quarter of 2011 and 51% in 2012, and the laws that have not been adopted in the last quarter of 2012 will be adopted in 2013.
Some of these laws are the new laws on consumer protection, on services and traffic safety.
Speaking about the National Programme for the Adoption of EU Legislation for the period from 2013 to 2016, she said that it was adopted by the government on 28 February, that the programme will be implemented until 31 December 2016 and that it consists of three main parts – political, economical and legal.
In line with this document, the adoption of 337 regulations is planned for 2013, of which 65 laws, and translation of 253 regulations.
Preparations for EU accession are now crucial for Serbia, she underlined and noted that this plan is the first document that has been adopted in the preparation process.
Grubjesic underlined that the reform process in Serbia has not been slowed down or halted, although the question of Kosovo-Metohija is dominant at the moment.
