Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic and Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Ivica Dacic spoke today with Serbian Patriarch Irinej, Metropolitan Amfilohije, Bishop of Backa Irinej and Bishop of Raska and Prizren Teodosije.
At a meeting at the Palace of Serbia it was agreed that it is necessary to achieve unity of the domestic public in the resolution of all issues of national interest.
Speaking about the situation in Kosovo-Metohija, the state and church officials expressed their concern over the latest incidents and agreed that the international organisations that are present in the southern Serbian province are bound by their mandate, also approved by the Republic of Serbia, to protect the rights and safety of all citizens and all religious facilities in the province.
The Serbian President, the Prime Minister and Patriarch Irinej also spoke about the upcoming activities related to the observation of 1700 years of the Edict of Milan, reads a statement by the Press Service of the Serbian President.
