Vucic presented in the parliament the Serbian government’s agreements with the governments of Greece, Brazil, Angola and Indonesia on cooperation in the field of defence.
He that the Serbian Army and the Ministry of Defence are building the best possible relations with everyone in the world in the interest of the citizens of Serbia, and that this policy will continue.
He pointed out that members of the Serbian Army are guarantee of security, peacekeeping and defence of national and state interests, in accordance with the Constitution of Serbia.
According to him, the Serbian Army will continue to participate in seven multinational operations under the auspices of the UN and the EU, because it strengthens the country's reputation in the world and cooperation with other participating countries.
Vucic said that the country will continue to participate in missions in Congo, Liberia, Cote d'Ivoire, Cyprus, Lebanon, Uganda and the EU mission to fight pirates in Somali waters.
The Serbian Army, the Ministry of Defence and other government bodies are prepared to respond to any kind of challenge in the future in a responsible and serious way and based on the Serbian Constitution, said the First Deputy Prime Minister.
Vucic said that the agreements mostly relate to military economic cooperation, adding that those are the countries that have not recognised Kosovo's independence.
When it comes to cooperation with Angola, he announced the plan is to build a military hospital like the Serbian Military Medical Academy and to rebuild the airport, adding that preliminary agreements have been signed.
He also presented the agreement between Serbia and Russia on the establishment of a Russian-Serbian humanitarian centre, adding that Serbia would benefit from it in case of major defence and natural disasters.
