Speaking at a press conference held after a meeting with the Chinese Vice Minister of Commerce, Dinkic pointed out that this is a non-repayable aid that will be used to help those who need it most.
The Minister said that the Serbian government is very satisfied with the speed of construction of the bridge Zemun-Borca and the modernisation of the Kostolac thermal power plant.
He said that the Serbian government has decided to send a plea to the government of the People's Republic of China and the Exim Bank to support other large investment projects in Serbia with a $1.8 billion loan.
Dinkic said that in the new few months several agreements should be prepared for signing in the field of infrastructure and energy, which should be supported by Exim Bank with the above-mentioned loan.
The Minister specified that these are three new motorway lanes: Belgrade–Ljig, Pojate–Preljina and Novi Sad towards Ruma, Sabac and Loznica, and the construction of new capacities in the Kostolac thermal power plant.
Both Serbian and Chinese companies would participate in these projects, after the same model like on the construction of Zemun-Borca bridge.
Dinkic, who together with Shan is also the co-president of the mixed intergovernmental commissions for trade and economic cooperation between Serbia and China, said that the agreements with Exim Bank and contractor agreements should be ready before the meetings of these bodies in the first quarter of the next year, which will make it possible for the works to start in the spring next year.
He said that Minister of Construction and Urban Planning Velimir Ilic and Minister of Regional Development and Local Self-Government Verica Kalanovic already hold talks with representatives of Chinese companies interested in working on these projects, and those who offer the lowest price will get the job.
According to him, the Minister Ilic has already completed the talks for the part of the motorway Ljig- Obrenovac and the signing of a preliminary contract with a Chinese company is expected soon.
Dinkic expressed his conviction that preliminary contracts for the other two planned parts of motorway will be signed by the end of this month and after that feasibility studies will be worked out which will be sent to Exim Bank for approval.
