The Serbian government’s Office for Kosovo-Metohija is organising today, on the occasion of All Souls’ Day, visits to cemeteries in Pristina, Obilic, Prizren and Kosovska Mitrovica, while visits to cemeteries in four more places were cancelled since escort of the Kosovo police was not provided.
A statement issued by the Office says that the visits to the cemeteries in Djakovica, Urosevac, Suva Reka and Musutiste were cancelled because the buses were not provided with the escort of the Kosovo Police Service, which is organised in cooperation with the EULEX police.
A police escort was not approved also to the buses that will bring visitors to the cemeteries in Pristina, Obilic, Prizren and Kosovska Mitrovica, but despite this the Serbs from Kosovo-Metohija residing in central Serbia decided to visit the graves of their loved ones in these places.
The visits to the cemeteries on the occasion of All Souls’ Day was organised in collaboration with non-governmental organisations and municipalities in Kosovo-Metohija, it is added in the statement.
