Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications Rasim Ljajic talked today with the producers of edible oils from Serbia who confirmed their readiness to lower the producer prices of sunflower oil by 3% to 10%, depending on the manufacturer and type of product.
Ljajic informed the oil producers of the Serbian government’s intention to pass a decree at the next session, at the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications, on the reduction of the maximum retail margin on the sale of oil from the current 10% to 5%.
Owing to this measure and the readiness of producers to reduce selling prices, the retail price of edible sunflower oil will drop by RSD 15 to RSD 20 per litre and the market and price stability of oil supply will be ensured.
At the same time, the government will continue to supply the market with oil through the state Directorate for Commodity Reserves, reads a statement issued by the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Internal Trade and Telecommunications.
