The National Council for Cooperation with the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) passed at its session today the decisions on the delivery of documents and replies to a total of 22 requests of the tribunal’s Prosecution and the defence of the accused.
A statement by the National Council says that the current cooperation between Serbia and the ICTY in the areas falling within the jurisdiction of the Council - access to documents, archives of public authorities and witnesses, was also discussed.
It was concluded that there are no requests of the tribunal and the defence of the accused to which it was not replied in a timely manner.
The National Council welcomed the decision of the President of the Tribunal that Radislav Krstic be transferred from the prison where he has been serving his sentence to the UN Detention Unit in Scheveningen.
In 2012 the National Council will continue to take all necessary measures to ensure smooth cooperation in all these areas.
