The National Council today at its regular meeting noted that this refers to access to documents, archives of public authorities and witnesses.
The Council made decisions on the delivery of documents and answers, as well as on releasing witnesses from keeping secrets upon 29 requests from the ICTY and the defence of the accused.
Cooperation with the court in technical areas has been at a very high level, given the fact that the Republic of Serbia fully responded to almost all out of 1,979 requests from the ICTY Prosecutor's Office.
Also, from a total of 1,040 requests for assistance the defence of the accused before the court, our country has completely responded to almost all of them.
The National Council for Cooperation with the ICTY has approved all requests of the Hague Tribunal Prosecution and the defence of the accused to achieve access.
All the witnesses have been exempted from the obligation of secrecy to enable them to give their testimony in proceedings before the tribunal.
The achieved level of cooperation is also confirmed by recent reports of President and the Chief Prosecutor of the tribunal where Serbia's cooperation with the court was praised.
