Kosovo-Metohija is integral part of Serbia

Secretary General of the Council of Europe Terry Davis said in an interview for the New Year's edition of Belgrade magazine CorD that Kosovo-Metohija is an integral part of Serbia.

"The Council of Europe recognises the current borders of Serbia-Montenegro because they are internationally recognised and Serbia-Montenegro was admitted to the Council of Europe with those borders", Davis said.
Commenting on the recent identical statement given to a delegation of Kosovo Albanians during their visit to Strasbourg, Davis said that he understands that they are not happy with that, but that he stands by his position.
"The Council of Europe will not encourage separatist movements in any of its member countries. That includes Cyprus, Moldavia, Georgia, Azerbaijan and Russia. The same principle applies to Serbia-Montenegro", Davis added.
