“Green Pool” open for new member companies

Minister of Economy and Regional Development Nebojsa Ciric held a meeting today with representatives of "Green Pool" – an association of 15 agricultural companies. The meeting was held at company Seme Tamis in Pancevo.
Ciric said that a joint profit of these companies in the amount of €3.3 million is expected in 2011, a significant difference in relation to a €2.3 million loss that was recorded last year.
He explained that "Green Pool" consists of companies whose privatisation contracts were cancelled and the state has supported them, so now these 15 companies share the machinery, have a centralised procurement of intermediate goods and cultivate a total of 19,500 hectares of which 65% are already sown with field crops.
The total revenues of all 15 members have increased between €3 million and €4 million in less than a year owing to joint work of "Green Pool" and the state, the Minister underlined.
He noted that the Ministry will insist on this form of work, where several companies are joined in one.
In this way, successful companies capable of producing, paying their debts and exporting can be created.
Ciric said that “Green Pool” is open for new member companies and added that the first priority of this association is financial and business consolidation.
During the meeting in Pancevo, the possibilities for exports to Kuwait were also discussed, since this country is interested in agricultural products from Serbia, which was one of the topics at the recent visit of the state delegation of Serbia, headed by Serbian President Boris Tadic, to this country.
