Milosavljevic underlined that the arrival of the Belgian company is important for reviving the production in a large number of companies that have been suppliers of Maxi so far, and as of now they will be able to produce goods under the brand name of Delhaize.
The Minister said that Delhaize is also present at the US market where it generates an annual income of about $20 billion, which opens the possibility for this company to sell Serbian products on the US market.
He assessed that this year has started good in terms of investments and expressed his hope that the plan of attracting €3 billion in investments this year will be fulfilled.
The international retail chain from Belgium, Delhaize Group stated yesterday that it reached an agreement on purchase of 100% of Delta Maxi Group, which owns about 450 stores in five countries of Southeast Europe, for a total of €932.5 million.
