January consumer prices jumped by 11.2% compared to January 2010, while consumer prices in 2010 jumped by 6.5% in relation to 2009.
The greatest price hike was recorded in alcohol and tobacco (7.7%), transportation (2.4%), food and soft beverages (1.9%) and education (1.3%).
The communications sector marked a drop (by 1.7%), while the prices of other goods and services did not change significantly.
The difference between indices of retail prices and indices of the costs of living is a consequence of the different influence of growth in prices of certain goods in the formation of these indices.
