Speaking at the promotion of the beginning of use of the Single taxpayers register, Radosavljevic explained that all taxpayers will be able to file their tax returns and pay taxes electronically and receive confirmation about their payments.
The Single taxpayers register contains data on tax obligations of 4.7 million taxpayers, he said.
Electronic communication with the Tax Administration should contribute to better tax collection, Radosavljevic said and noted that in this way, the economy will save around €600 million annually and queues in the Tax Administration’s branch offices will be reduced.
Assistant Director of the Tax Administration Dejan Vidojevic explained that until now, the Contact centre was providing general information to taxpayers about their operations with the Tax Administration.
The new feature is that in one month, they will be able to get specific information and learn the state of their accounts through the Contact centre, Vidojevic said and added that this information will be available through e-mail as well.
Another important new feature is that a new portal of the Tax Administration will be opened in June, through which taxpayers will receive electronic receipts for the tax paid and they will be able to file electronic VAT returns.
