The Assembly of Kosovo-Metohija appointed Ramush Haradinaj for prime minister. That appointment is a political provocation for all those who advocate peaceful and sustainable agreement to the Kosovo-Metohija problem. Both the local and international circles know that he is a person with a criminal background, in war and peace.
Instead of the policy of good will, by this act, the Serb people living in the province, Serbia-Montenegro and the world are sent signals of extremist policy that caused the pogrom against Serbs on March 17 and 18 this year. That brings into question the efforts of representatives of the international community, our state and democratically oriented politicians in the region, who are directed toward finding a compromise. Kosovo-Metohija is being exposed to a new, even more dangerous adventure of accomplished political facts and one-sided solutions.
Faced with this, extremely unfavourable situation in Kosovo-Metohija, I consider it necessary to call an extraordinary session of the Serbian government tomorrow, on December 4. President Boris Tadic, Parliament Speaker Predrag Markovic, members of the Serbia-Montenegrin Council of Ministers Vuk Draskovic and Prvoslav Davinic, and head of the Coordinating Centre for Kosovo-Metohija Nebojsa Covic will also take part at the government’s session.
