At the proposal of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Regional Development Mladjan Dinkic, four of his Ministry’s services will be moved to regional centres – Zajecar, Nis, Kragujevac and Uzice – before the end of the year.
The Ministry says in a statement that the first deconcentration of authorities in Serbia will begin at the proposal of Minister Dinkic in order to bring state institutions closer to citizens and entrepreneurs and relieve the injustice felt by citizens in the rest of Serbia over the fact that all state institutions are located in the capital.
The headquarters of the National Agency for Regional Development will be relocated to Zajecar on 15 October, while by the end of November the seat of the Development Fund will be moved to Nis.
The Agency for Export Insurance and Financing will from now on be situated in Uzice and the National Employment Service in Kragujevac.
The purpose of this relocation is to provide equal chances for all citizens and make institutions equally available to everyone, since they exist for the sake of the people, reads the statement.
