Investment of German company MC-Bauchemie in Sremska Mitrovica

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Regional Development Mladjan Dinkic said today that German companies are very interested in investing in Serbia and that in the last month and a half alone, agreements were reached on investments in Sremska Mitrovica, Indjija and Subotica.

In Sremska Mitrovica, Dinkic attended the signing of the agreement between representatives of the German company MC-Bauchemie and Sremska Mitrovica Mayor Branislav Nedimovic, which will enable a greenfield investment of approximately €1.5 million and the hiring of 40 workers in the production of chemical substances and additives for construction industry.

Dinkic also confirmed on this occasion that several more German investors are visiting potential locations for investment in Serbia.

German investments mean that the state will have reliable partners, people safe jobs and in view of the fact that Serbia mostly exports its products to Germany, this will entail increase in exports as well.

Nedimovic specified that a part of production in this factory will be intended for the Serbian market, while the rest will be sold in the member countries of CEFTA, mainly Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.

He explained that this is the agreement on the sale of public-owned building land at the market price of €6, or RSD 588 per square metre, and voiced hope that the works will commence next year.

This is the first contract in Sremska Mitrovica made on the basis of the new Law on planning and construction, Nedimovic added.

Director of MC-Bauchemie Jenc Morgerstern explained that this company decided to make an investment in Sremska Mitrovica because this town has a developed infrastructure and all preconditions for development of a dynamic market in Serbia. Morgerstern recalled that this company used to be present on the Yugoslav market and that its materials were used in the construction of hydroelectric power plant Djerdap.
