Upon visiting the construction site, Dinkic stated that the government’s decision to grant subsidies to investors for new workplaces has come at the last moment in the case of the city of Nis, where the unemployment rate is around 30%.
Yura’s investment is the largest greenfield investment in Nis which will employ between 1,500 and 1,700 workers.
In late September Dinkic is scheduled to visit Seoul with the aim of attracting more South Korean investors because they proved to be good investors. The entire output of their factories in Serbia is being exported.
We can fight unemployment, the greatest economic problem in Serbia, only by construction of new factories and renovation of old ones and by opening new workplaces, Dinkic outlined.
He explained that the total value of this investment is €15 million. Yura will receive €7,000 per employee from the government’s programme for encouraging direct investment.
The factory will be built by construction firms from Nis who signed a contract with Yura today.
