Bauerhin IGB Automotive to open new plant in Indjija

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Regional Development Mladjan Dinkic, Mayor of Indjija Goran Jesic and Director of Bauerhin IGB Automotive Joseph Hilmer signed an agreement on the construction of a new factory in Indjija.

Dinkic said that the factory will come into operation next year and that by 2012 a total of 750 workers will find employment there.

Dinkic highlighted that Serbia is currently the most wanted location for new investment in Central and Eastern Europe, which is a great opportunity for our country.
The Deputy Prime Minister confirmed that Serbian exports in the first half of this year increased by 19.4% mainly thanks to greenfield investments and some well-privatised domestic factories.
The Serbian government will continue to do everything to help as many domestic and foreign companies open their factories in Serbia and employ people, given that unemployment is currently the biggest problem for the Serbian economy, he outlined.
Recession is behind us but we should not relax until we increase employment rates, he stated.
The Deputy Prime Minister added that negotiations are underway with more than 80 companies from around the world to invest in new plants in Serbia, of which 20 companies are in the car industry sector.
Indjija is a pioneer of such a model of economic growth, recalled Dinkic and added that other municipalities should follow this model.
In September 2007 Bauerhin IGB Automotive opened a production plant in Indjija and after three years of successful business performance, apart from its 300 workers at the moment, the company has decided to build a new factory and employ 450 more workers.
The German company has a tradition of over 30 years and produces heated car seats that are installed into newest models of cars of the brands BMW, Mercedes Benz, Audi, Porsche, Volkswagen, Opel, Ford, Nissan, Aston Martin and others.
