Serb returnees to Kosovo-Metohija in urgent need of heating fuel and food

Kosovo-Metohija Ombudsman Marek Antony Nowicki has urged the provincial authorities to provide heating fuel and food for Serbs who have returned to Kosovo.

In a statement issued today, Nowicki said he is concerned over the fact that Serb returnees have not been provided with appropriate assistance to ensure them normal living conditions.
“Returnees can’t even toil their land because their farms have been usurped by their ethnic-Albanian neighbours. They don’t even have agricultural machinery and materials,” reads the statement.
“These people need assistance to get back on their feet. They will not be able to survive without appropriate support,” said Nowicki.
