After the signing, Dinkic said that the value of this greenfield investment is €12 million and confirmed that Daytec will start the construction of the factory in Nis in September at the latest and commence production in the second half of next year.
The Nis factory will provide car parts for Mercedes, Renault, General Motors and Fiat, while the entire production will be exported either directly or through Fiat in Kragujevac.
Daytec is the first investor in Serbia that will receive €10,000 from the Serbian government for every new employee, which is the maximum amount prescribed by the new decree, the Minister explained.
The government will finance the training of workers for Daytec through the National Employment Service. The same method will be used for the South Korean company Yura, also in the automotive industry, which will start with construction of a factory in Nis on 19 August.
The aim of the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development is to continue bringing in large foreign companies, especially from the car and electrical industries. Representatives of the Ministry and the Serbian Investment and Export Promotion Agency (SIEPA) are currently negotiating with 25 companies that are considering starting production in Serbia.
Zucco specified that the annual production in the Nis factory will be worth between €30 million and €35 million.
He recalled that Daytec has factories all over the world, adding that it has achieved excellent cooperation with the Serbian government and the city of Nis.
Simonovic pointed out that Nis, in accordance with the new Law on planning and construction, is the first city that has provided free land for large investors.
The Turin company received 2.5 hectares of land for free in the area of Donje Medjurovo.
Daytec has factories in Italy, Tunisia, Turkey, Russia, Brazil, China and Mexico. The company employs a total of 3,400 people and has an annual turnover of €270 million.
