Lazarevic confirmed that this will be one-off assistance for projects whose total value is about €1.86 billion.
Around €434.6 million will be provided from the Serbian budget or about 23% of the total value of these projects, Lazarevic added.
She highlighted that Serbia is the only western Balkan country that has managed to harmonise the process of implementation and the financing of projects with the EU’s budget year and to ensure a sufficient number of quality projects.
Representative of the EU Delegation to Serbia Ferenc Simon outlined that Serbia has already begun filling out the EU Questionnaire, even before the European Commission (EC) has asked for it. In order to do that, the public organs will first have to translate the questionnaire and then answer around 4,600 questions.
Simon voiced the hope that the EC will positively evaluate the Serbian answers, which will give it EU candidate status soon.

In 2009 alone, 10 project proposals were prepared, the total value of which is around €75.5 million, with €100 million in direct budgetary assistance. In 2010, 26 project proposals were prepared, with a total value of around €186.2 million.
