Dinkic, who is on a two-day working visit to the Netherlands, held a series of meetings today with the largest Dutch investors and called on them to invest in Serbia.
At meetings in the two largest Dutch chambers of commerce, in The Hague and Rotterdam, Dinkic presented the advantages of investing in our country.
Dutch companies have expressed particular interest in cooperation with Serbia in the fields of shipbuilding, the manufacture of buses and trucks, as well as energy and agriculture.
The largest companies in the field of shipbuilding are interested in building ships for the Dutch and the world market in Serbian shipyards.
The Serbian government will adopt a special programme to encourage the export-oriented sector of the Serbian economy, Dinkic said, adding that shipbuilding makes most of Serbia's exports to the Netherlands, about €50 million per year.
The Minister of Economy and Regional Development has confirmed that two leading Dutch companies for the production of buses and trucks have expressed interest in production in Serbia in order to export to the EU, the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan and Belarus, as well as other countries with which Serbia has free trade agreements.
During his working visit, Dinkic met in The Hague with the Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs Maria van der Hoeven, as well as with the most influential representatives of the largest parliamentary parties in the Netherlands whom Dinkic especially thanked for their support to the ratification of the Stabilisation and Association Agreement (SAA) and asked for their support in Serbia’s efforts to obtain the status of candidate country for EU membership.
