Dinkic said that the first project under this agreement jointly implemented by the two countries will be the modernisation and reconstruction of railway Corridor 10 from Nis to Dimitrovgrad.
The Minister added that Czech Export Bank will grant a loan to the Serbian government in the amount of €120 million for the electrification of the railway.
He explained that this was a loan with a favourable interest rate of 2.5% per annum, a repayment period of ten years and a grace period of one year.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that a consortium of Serbian and Czech construction companies will employ leading companies from both countries.
Dinkic said that the part of the railway from Nis to Dimitrovgrad is the only section on Corridor 10 that has not been electrified. He explained that after this is done, it will be possible for trains to reach a speed of 120 kilometres per hour.
The Minister said Tosovsky conveyed the support of the Czech Republic to Serbia for joining the EU. The two ministers also discussed possibilities for new Czech investments in Serbia.
This refers to investments in the chemical industry and the production industry for the energy sector, Dinkic said.
Tosovsky said that there are many areas in which the two countries can expand their cooperation, such as industry, tourism and other branches of the economy.
