In a statement to Tanjug news agency, Djelic specified that $400 million will be used as support to the Serbian budget, with $50 million for construction of Corridor 10 and $10 million for revitalisation of the Bor District.
An additional $30 million will be released as immediate help for flood prevention. Works on the rivers Jadar and Tamnava will start soon, while $7 million will be set aside for Timocka krajina, Aleksinac and Toplica.
As a member of the Serbian delegation, Djelic is attending the spring meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), held in Washington.
Minister of Finance Diana Dragutinovic said that the Serbian delegation is continuing talks in Washington with IMF representatives about macroeconomic policy goals that Serbia has achieved, as part of the preparation for the arrival of the IMF mission on 12 May.
We spoke about the current macroeconomic situation and the results achieved in the first quarter of 2010. Serbia has managed to fulfil all the requirements set and is entering the new stage of negotiations peacefully, Dragutinovic told Tanjug.
Speaking about the pension system reform and the law on fiscal responsibility, Dragutinovic said that Serbia has already submitted a draft of this law to the IMF.
If we agree on the law on fiscal responsibility, we will automatically agree on the pension reform as well, Dragutinovic underlined.
She said that the Serbian delegation will also meet with IMF Deputy Managing Director Murilo Portugal and World Bank’s top officials.
