Upon visiting the Alas company in Rakovac, which specialises in rock exploitation, Dinkic said that the contract on construction of that part of motorway on Corridor 10 and the ring road on the Subotica-Kelebija section will be signed next week. This project is worth €100 million and will be important for many domestic construction companies.
In the Alas company, Dinkic visited a new plant for processing and separation of rock in which the mother company from Austria invested almost €8 million.
Since the arrival of Alas Holding to the Serbian market in 2001, this company has invested over €75 million, which includes privatisation of the Beocin cement plant and investment into another four big and successful companies.
The Minister reiterated that construction of roads will help create more jobs, which is of utmost importance since Serbia’s main problem is high unemployment.
Dinkic also visited a location near Beocin at which construction of a new factory for processing of engine oil has begun, and a biogas production plant in Zabalj.
The construction of modern facilities in Zabalj is extremely important because it is one of the most undeveloped municipalities in Serbia, being in 98th place according to the level of development, he said.
As Minister for regional development I wish to provide full support to this project. The Ministry is ready to provide utilities to Zabalj industrial zone and to find foreign investors who will create new jobs, he said.
The beginning of the construction of these facilities will prove that development is possible even in the most undeveloped municipalities. Good entrepreneurial ideas and cooperation with local, provincial and state organs can improve conditions in these areas, said Dinkic.
