Noting that the initiative aims to help farmers sell their crops, Golubovic said that Serbia has strong wheat, corn, sugar beet and soy surplus this year which it can export. According to him, this year's wheat yield has reached some three million tonnes, leaving over one million tonnes in surplus.
The Deputy Minister also voiced hope that the Ministry of International Economic Relations will endorse the proposed initiative.
According to Golubovic, sugar accounts for 11.4 percent of Serbia's total exports, raspberries for 7.37 percent, corn for 4.54 percent and wheat for 4.37 percent.
The bulk of agricultural exports end up in Libya, Tunis and other countries in Africa. At the same time, Spain, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Macedonia absorb most of Serbia's agricultural exports to Europe, Golubovic noted.
