In a statement to Tanjug news agency, Milosavljevic, who is attending the Investment Forum of Italy and the countries of Southeast Europe in Verona, said that the more than 200 Italian companies working in Serbia, which employ 18,000 workers, presented very positive assessments of Serbia’s business environment.
The realisation of already concluded business deals between Italian and Serbian companies was also discussed at the forum, said the Minister.
Talks were held about starting the implementation of certain agreements concerning the energy and transport infrastructure sectors, which were concluded at a meeting held between Serbian and Italian government representatives in Rome, in November 2009, said Milosavljevic.
Serbia is interested in working with low cost Italian companies for starting flights to Italian cities, said the Minister.
According to him, a great number of Italian investors showed interest in investing in the energy sector and taking part in construction of bridges and road infrastructure.
The Minister was informed about the completion of a study for reconstruction and modernisation of Belgrade-Bar railway, financed by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development.
The Minister said that an Italian business delegation is expected to visit Serbia between 24 and 26 April, led by Italian Minister of Economic Development Claudio Scajola.
Milosavljevic said that members of the Adriatic-Ionian Initiative signed a declaration at the Forum and concluded that the sector of small and medium-sized enterprises can be fuel for economic recovery because it can give job to workers laid-off from the public sector, public administration and large companies.
