Following the opening of Telenor’s bid of €1,050,000 Matic said that the bid is consistent with what is currently offered in the Serbian market.
She said that the willingness of and opportunity for a large company like Telenor to invest in Serbia’s infrastructure development is very important, since it will help to increase the availability of broadband information technologies.
She said that the second operator of landlines will resolve the problem of two-party lines and the problem of over 150,000 requests for introduction of a landline, as well as an increasing number of requests for introduction of ADSL or some other broadband technology for Internet access.
She said that Telenor will offer various packages of services to citizens, such as a package of landline, mobile line and a broadband Internet access.
Director-General of Telenor in Serbia Kjell Morten Johnsen said that this company wants to be a long-term investor in Serbia.
He said that Telenor, if it gets the licence, will propose to Telekom Srbija to lease its infrastructure, according to the same model after which it gives for lease its infrastructure in Norway.
