Serbia receives second tranche of IMF loan

Governor of the National Bank of Serbia Radovan Jelasic stated that Serbia will receive today the second tranche of a loan from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), amounting to €349.6 million. The total amount of funds received will then stand at €1.13 billion.
Jelasic said at a press conference that this will increase the foreign currency reserves of the National Bank of Serbia to €10.5 billion, and recalled that Serbia has so far received €790 million from a stand-by arrangement with the IMF, whose total value is €2.87 billion.
The Governor said that an IMF mission will visit Serbia in the second half of February to review the arrangement, and added that the third tranche of the loan, amounting to €350 million, should be released in May next year.
