The statement adds that the Best Export Product award went to Aero East Europe from Kraljevo, while the award for Conquering the New Market was presented to Vrsac based Hemofarm.
The SME Exporter of the Year is PC Tech from Belgrade, while special recognition in this category was presented to DMV Industrijski Kontrolni Sistemi and Gowi Group.
Shoe maker Falk Ist Company was declared Exporter of the Year due to the high percentage of the company’s products being exported, namely 95.65% of their total sales, as well as for increases in the number of employees, new investments and freshly conquered markets.
The Best Export Product in 2009 is the Embera ultralight aircraft, manufactured entirely in Serbia by Aero East Europe.
PC Tech, the SME Exporter of the Year, was awarded for its outstanding export performances in the EU and US markets, as well as for its cooperation with large ICT companies.
LED displays producer DMV Industrijski Kontrolni Sistemi managed to increase exports in 2009 by 63% and therefore received a special recognition.
The Gowi Group also received an award. In 2009 the company succeeded in increasing its exports by 94% and invested in product development. The Gowi Group was also very successful on the UK market.
The 2009 Conquering the New Market award went to Hemofarm. Despite tough competition from pharmaceutical companies throughout the world, the company managed to both place its products on and offer new products to the US market. Hemofarm products received official certificates of approval from the US Food and Drug Administration.
The sponsors of this year’s export awards were DHL International Belgrade, which presented Hemofarm an award of €15,000, Volksbank Serbia, which awarded a sum of €15,000 to the company PC Tech and Orange Studio, which awarded €15,000 to Aero East Europe.
The Mikroelektronika Company was an official partner of the awards event.
The jury this year was an expert committee consisting of representative of the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development Nenad Ilic, Vice President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Mihailo Vesovic, editor of the magazine Ekonom:east Voja Stevanovic, Professor at the Belgrade Economics Faculty Sasa Veljkovic and SIEPA Director Vesna Peric, who also headed the committee.
SIEPA has organised this event since 2004 with the purpose of encouraging exporters through national recognition.
The award also entitles award winning companies to use the “Exporter of the Year” logo on their products, concludes the statement.
