After the signing, Dinkic said that during the two day session cooperation in the area of infrastructure was discussed, as well as projects related to industry, health, tourism and ecology. He voiced hope that various agreements will be signed in the near future.
He said that it was agreed with Chinese representatives that every effort will be made to conclude negotiations as soon as possible on the construction work and loan from the China Eximbank concerning the Zemun –Borca Bridge project, including a 21 kilometre ring road.
He said that a pre-contract with the Chinese company
CRBC has already been signed, while detailed negotiations on the agreement will start in December.
He said that talks are going on with Eximbank representatives about a loan. After the finalisation of both agreements they will be ratified by the Serbian Parliament, which will make it possible to start the construction of the bridge by the middle of next year.
Dinkic said that Chinese companies are interested in participating in the construction of the Belgrade – Ljig section of the Belgrade – South Adriatic motorway and a response is expected from them by spring next year.
The cost of the section is estimated at €300 million and if the China Eximbank offers good terms then the Chinese will be included in the project as well, said Dinkic.
He said that the contract between the Serbian Tax Administration and the Chinese company Mutek regarding the purchase of scanners worth $30 million is a good example of cooperation between the two countries, adding that it is possible that joint projects will be carried out at the Kostolac thermoelectric power plant.
Dinkic said that it was a good step to encourage cooperation in the areas of information and telecommunications technology and the electronics and auto industries, adding that the Priboj auto factory FAP and Chinese Dongfeng Commercial Vehicle Company have reached an agreement on the production of trucks at FAP from October next year.
The Deputy Prime Minister said that he expects that the success of this contract will encourage other Chinese companies to set up production in Serbia.
Chinese Assistant Minister of Trade Tchu Hung said that the two-day eighth session of the Serbian-Chinese intergovernmental committee will improve economic and trade relations between the two countries. She said that the next session will be held in September 2010 in China.
After signing the protocol, president of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Milos Bugarin and President of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce Dzang Juing signed a memorandum on cooperation between these two institutions.
