Provisional deadlines for repayment of Russian loan established

Assistant Minister of Finance Zoran Cirovic said that provisional deadlines for repayment of the $200 million Russian loan to Serbia were established at today’s meeting in Moscow of the Serbian-Russian working group for economic cooperation.
The loan has a grace period of one to three years. The Russian side proposed that the repayment period should be 10 years, but the Serbian side would like it to be longer, Cirovic said.
We expect the Russians to give us the proposal regarding interest rates tomorrow. If they don’t do it now, we can expect it upon our return to Belgrade, the Assistant Minister explained. In talks during the visit of Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to Serbia, it was said several times that the loans for infrastructure and the budget will be favourable, Cirovic said. He said that negotiations will be continued tomorrow at 11 am. The topic will be the loan for infrastructural projects for construction of railways and roads.
