Dinkic said that according to a new strategy, the government will help some enterprises to purchase new equipment and therefore modernise their production.
All the government activities in the past year were aimed at alleviating the consequences of the crisis. Now that Serbia has managed to surmount the recession the government will change its strategy and provide financial help to those companies that sell their products on foreign markets in order to speed up the recovery of the Serbian economy.
He specified that the ministry is currently thinking of investing in around 10 public companies, including the 14 Oktobar factory, where no new equipment has been bought for the past 20 to 30 years.
He said that the government will allocate RSD 200 million to the 14 Oktobar factory for the purchase of new equipment, which will secure better profits and stable jobs and salaries.
Director of the factory Zoran Radmanovac voiced his appreciation to Minister Dinkic for his support, noting that 50 new workers will be employed in the upcoming period.
He specified that the value of the business contracts for this year and the first six months of next year stands at RSD 1.2 billion, adding that 14 Oktobar is included in the new $100 million contract with Iraq.
The question of paying social insurance for workers was also discussed in talks with the 14 Oktobar executives.
Presently, the company pays for the health insurance of the workers but not for pension insurance, therefore in cooperation with the Ministry of Economy a financial plan will be made so that these obligations are met.
Dinkic confirmed that if a strategic partner appears in the near future who can improve production and expand the market for 14 Oktobar, negotiations will be conducted concerning joint investment, but until then state owned companies which have a good future will have to rely on their own resources and state support.
During the tour of the company Zupa, which is an established exporter, an agreement was reached concerning a working capital loan.
Dinkic wrapped up his visit to Krusevac with a meeting with entrepreneurs and a visit to the Business Incubator Centre.
He spoke with owners of small and medium-sized enterprises about state help for their businesses to support them through the global financial crisis.
