During his visit to the Fabrika Vagona Kraljevo railway carriage factory, Dinkic said he is convinced that Serbia is full of successful people with great business ideas, but unknown to the general public.
Over the next two days a delegation from the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development will visit four towns and seven factories and meet with representatives of large and small enterprises and local self-governments in order to become acquainted with their current problems, he said.
The Minister noted that an IMF delegation has confirmed that Serbia is on a good way to surmount the recession and stabilise its economy, stressing that 2010 must be the year of Serbia's economic recovery.
He announced that representatives from the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development visit factories and enterprises throughout Serbia every week.
Our main goal is to support both successful and less successful businesses, said the Minister, voicing his belief that this way the government will manage to overcome the consequences of the crisis.
Minister Dinkic recalled that the government has already allocated €800 million through various stimulative measures as support to both citizens and the economy during the crisis.
We managed to fend off the crisis and we also protected the economy and the people by not increasing taxes. Now is the time to start the recovery of our economy, the Deputy Prime Minister stressed.
Speaking about the problems at the Fabrika Vagona Kraljevo railway carriage factory, he stressed that the government initiated a special aid programme and approved RSD 2.1 billion towards production and employment.
We are glad that thanks to these government measures, a portion of those who were laid off when the crisis hit are now back at work, Dinkic said, adding that the government is contemplating continuing this programme next year as there are good prospects for railway carriage production in Serbia.
We are convinced that once the recession is behind us and foreign markets reopen our railway carriages will be sold to railway companies worldwide, but until then we will focus on our own railway company being the main buyer, the Deputy Prime Minister noted.
The first 15 new carriages from the Fabrika Vagona Kraljevo were sent today to Serbian railway stations, while by the end of September another 30 carriages will be produced and distributed. The output will total 85 carriages by the end of the year.
Dinkic and the delegation from the Ministry of Economy and Regional Development today visited the aeroplane manufacturer Fabrika Aviona Kraljevo and later in the day they are to tour the hydraulics and pneumatics manufacturer Prva Petoletka and the Nova Sloga food processing factory in Trstenik.
A visit to Krusevac has been scheduled for tomorrow where the delegation will tour the plant and tractor producer 14 Oktobar and the Zupa chemical factory.
