At the Ministerial Council on Consumer Affairs' session, Milosavljevic pointed out that by adopting the bill on consumer protection, consumer rights will reach European standards.
The draft law contains 15 key EU directives, he said, adding that the Ministry of Trade and Services will organise a series of public discussions in September and October.
During her visit to Serbia, the EU Consumer Protection Commissioner will meet with representatives of consumers associations, he said.
Minister Milosavljevic informed members of the Council about the Ministry's activities, noting that a competition for financing projects concerned with informing consumers of their rights will be announced on September 8.
Assistant Minister Ljiljana Stankovic pointed out that the ministry will organise workshops on August 28 and September 11 in order to help prepare consumers associations for the competition.
