June prices of goods, services remain static

The Serbian Statistics Office today said that the prices of goods and services in Serbia in June 2009 remained the same as the previous month.
In June 2009, compared to June 2008, retail prices went up by 8.3% and compared to December 2008 by 7%.
Observed by groups, the greatest increase in June was recorded in communications (2.1%), transportation (1.7%) and the education sector (1.5%), while the price of food and non-alcoholic beverages went down by 1%.
The prices of other goods and services did not change significantly.
CPI COICOP represents a special retail prices index calculated according to the methodology harmonised with recommendations for retail prices index calculation in the EU (Harmonised Price Index).
CPI COICOP is defined as a measure of the average change in retail prices of goods and services used for personal consumption.
