In June 2009, compared to June 2008, retail prices went up by 8.3% and compared to December 2008 by 7%.
Observed by groups, the greatest increase in June was recorded in communications (2.1%), transportation (1.7%) and the education sector (1.5%), while the price of food and non-alcoholic beverages went down by 1%.
The prices of other goods and services did not change significantly.
CPI COICOP represents a special retail prices index calculated according to the methodology harmonised with recommendations for retail prices index calculation in the EU (Harmonised Price Index).
