Minister Dinkic, together with Minister of Infrastructure Milutin Mrkonjic, was present today at the opening of the modern motorway connecting Vlasotince to Corridor 10, where he said that the new road network will help attract foreign investors.
The motorway was constructed in accordance with EU standards and within the deadline, said the Minister, noting that it cost almost RSD 240 million.
Dinkic pointed out that at its session yesterday the government adopted an agreement with the World Bank concerning the loan, worth $388 million, that the World Bank will provide for the construction of Corridor 10.
Now that we have enough money for the construction of Corridor 10 we expect public tenders to be announced, said the Minister, inviting all those making projects and preparing tenders to finish their jobs.
Minister Dinkic explained that the largest amount of money will be set aside by the European Investment Bank, then the World Bank and finally the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
Dinkic said that up until now Serbia has received €1,200,000,000 from various financial institutions for constructing the Corridor 10 highway.
The Minister said that work will begin this year following the announcements of several tenders, while intensive work on all sections is expected to begin in spring next year.
By June 22, documents should be handed over to the World Bank in order to announce the first tender for the construction of eastern section of Corridor 10 near Dimitrovgrad, which will cost €100 million. During the coming weeks the tender will be announced in the Financial Times and work is expected to begin in November this year at the latest, said Dinkic.
He confirmed that project documentation for other sections of the southern link of Corridor 10 is being urgently finalised and that tenders will be announced in succession for the section being financed by the Serbian government, adding that the first tender for that section will be announced by the end of August.
During today’s visit to southern Serbia Dinkic handed over public works contracts worth RSD 92 million in Leskovac and Vlasotince. These funds are for social projects such as care for the elderly and sick, public cleaning, etc, and will create 638 jobs.
