Opening the three-day show the two ministers said there are numerous possibilities for increasing cooperation and trade, especially since the signing of the Free Trade Agreement in March, which almost fully liberalised the trade between Serbia and Belarus.
By signing the agreement we created a very favourable ambience for our businesspeople and it is now up to them to use the benefits in the best way, said Milosavljevic, adding that the first Serbian trade show is an opportunity for Serbia to find new partners in Belarus.
He said there is room for boosting cooperation over the agriculture and food, timber, chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
Milosavljevic particularly stressed the possibility for cooperation in the production of tractors, agricultural and construction machinery and other vehicles.
Chekanov emphasised the huge possibilities for placing Serbian products in the Belarus market, as well as for setting up joint companies and realising large investment projects.
With the aim of strengthening cooperation between Serbia and Belarus, an agreement on forming a business council was signed by President of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce Milos Bugarin and President of the Belarus Chamber of Commerce Vasily Romanov.
At the three-day show in Minsk, organised by the Ministry of Trade and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, construction companies, furniture producers, agricultural and food companies, as well as representatives from pharmaceutical, textile, shoe and clothing industries will present their wares
An investment conference was held at the show at which possibilities for investing in Serbia were presented.
