April prices of goods, services up by 1.1%

The Serbian Statistics Office stated that retail prices of goods and services in April this year increased on average by 1.1% when compared to the previous month, the prices of goods increasing by 1.1% and the prices of services by 1.3%.
In April 2009, compared to April 2008, retail prices went up by 10% and compared to December 2008 by 7%.
Living costs in Serbia in April, compared to the previous month, went up by 1%.
In April 2009, compared to April 2008, living costs increased by 8.2% and compared to December 2008 by 5.2%.
The prices of agricultural products went up by 3%. The increase was due to the seasonal shift in the price of vegetables, while the prices of fruit, eggs and fish remained the same.
The price of industrial food products went up 0.1% on average, the prices of beverages and tobacco remained at the same level.
The price of industrial non-food products increased by 1.7%. The prices in this group were affected by the rise in the prices of medicines and oil derivatives. The prices of other products did not change significantly.
The price of services increased by 1.3% on average.
