After a meeting with Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Miltiadis Varvitsiotis, Kalanovic said that an agreement has been reached concerning the financing of the 15.8 kilometres long Corridor 10 highway section from Levosaj to Donji Neredovac and Greece is willing to invest €100 million in the project.
The Minister said that Greece is willing to work jointly with Serbia so that a tender could be called by the middle of this year and works could begin, adding that agreement was also reached to form an operational team.
She said that the Greek company Ignacia will provide technical support.
Kalanovic said that the meeting with Varvitsiotis, who headed the Greek delegation, was highly constructive because all elements of the action plan on this section were discussed, specifying that they talked about defining the main project and discussed expropriation and project documentation.
The Minister stressed they agreed about the way the project will be implemented, as well as about priorities and procedures, voicing her belief that this road section will soon be completed.
Serbia is very grateful to Greece for its help in building infrastructure because that will speed up Serbia’s economic development, Kalanovic stressed, adding that Serbia will in turn make sure the projects are completed speedily, well and with transparency.
Varvitsiotis, who is in charge of international economics at the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said that cooperation between Serbia and Greece is very satisfactory, voicing his hope that the cooperation on Corridor 10 will soon be realised.
He noted that today’s meeting was a step in that direction as they discussed technical details and plans.
