Minister of European Integration Nemanja Starović discussed today with representatives of the European Commission the start of negotiations on Serbia’s inclusion in the Roam Like at Home zone.
During the talks, the next steps in the process of Serbia’s accession to the single European roaming area were discussed, along with the activities that Serbia has carried out over the previous period to achieve full compliance with the EU acquis communautaire in the field of electronic communications and roaming.
The interlocutors agreed that Serbia’s inclusion in the European roaming area would represent a significant step in the process of gradual integration into the EU single market, as well as a concrete benefit for individuals and businesses in Serbia through more favourable use of mobile communication services during their stay in EU member states.
Starović stressed that Serbia remains committed to implementing reforms and fulfilling all obligations arising from the EU accession process, noting that improving the connectivity of individuals and businesses with the European area is one of the priorities of the Government of Serbia.
